Tiny Toes was developed to help make your childbirth experience an even more cherished lifetime event. And, when you become a Tiny Toes member, we will provide you with the following member benefits:

• Skilled and experienced staff – We take pride in our experience and the skill of our team in helping you bring your bundle of joy into the world.
• A tour of our OB Unit - For your peace of mind, you are welcome to schedule a tour, meet with our staff and ask any questions you have related to your day of delivery.
• Information via our website through our Health Resources link -- you have access to a wealth of current information on pregnancy and childbirth.
• The well-known book titled “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” -- Barstow Community Hospital’s Auxiliary provides you with this book free of charge to help guide you through your pregnancy. Filled with helpful tips and information about your changing body, developing baby and what you can do to fully enjoy pregnancy and the birth of your child, this book is a “must have.”
• Birthing Classes –We offer birthing classes to new moms or those who would like a refresher. The classes run five consecutive Wednesday at 7 p.m.. Call 760-957-3323 for more information on the start date for the next series of classes.
• A special collection of keepsakes to help celebrate the birth of your child - When your baby finally arrives, Tiny Toes will make sure you have a few memorable keepsakes from our staff including:
  o An attractive certificate featuring your baby’s height, weight and time of birth.
  o A digital photo of your baby posted on our Tiny Toes internet web site. (see below) Parental consent is required.
• Discounts from local merchants – We have partnered with many local merchants to provide you with some extra perks after your delivery. These special offers will be provided to you, along with your hospital keepsakes, as you leave the hospital.
• Car Seat Inspection – A state certified car seat inspector will check your newborn’s auto seat and provide instruction on proper installation and usage.
• Lactation Specialist Services - Services for those moms who wish to participate, and provide valuable information regarding newborn nutrition. Barstow Community Hospital earned prestigious international recognition as a Baby-Friendly birth facility through the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (“BFHI”), a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The initiative encourages and recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies. Through a grant provided by First 5 San Bernardino, Barstow Community Hospital offers prenatal breastfeeding classes and a breastfeeding support group through its New Family Follow-up Center, 309 E. Mountain View St., Suite 102.
