Laboratory Results
In many situations, results are printed and then faxed or mailed to the doctor. If the results indicate the patient may be very ill, the laboratory will call the doctor with the results. The length of time between the drawing of the blood and when the doctor gets the results can vary greatly, from a few minutes to as much as several weeks, depending on the test. Urgency, geographic distances, processing schedules, complexity of the test and other factors determine the length of time it takes to obtain results. If you have any questions or concerns about your results, please contact your physician.
Laboratory Hours and Location
Located in the main lobby of the hospital, our Outpatient Laboratory is just to the left of the gift shop. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is recommended that patients come in during these normal laboratory hours for a shorter wait time. Patients who need to come outside of the normal laboratory hours, may check in at the emergency room for laboratory services; however, wait times may be significantly increased depending on the number of patients being care for in the emergency room at that time.
For more information, call our Outpatient Laboratory at 760-957-3210.
The lab is accredited by the Joint Commission, licensed by the State of California, and certified by CLIA.
