Parking
There is ample parking for visitors and patients on the north side of the hospital via the Seventh Avenue entrance. The smaller parking lot on the south side of the hospital, entrance via Mountain View St., is reserved for emergency room visitors. Please observe the “Reserved Parking” areas as well as the “Handicapped” areas. “No Parking” areas are designated by red curbs and are the jurisdiction of the City of Barstow Police Department. All vehicles parked in the “No Parking” zones or in the “Handicapped” areas without the appropriate placard will be ticketed or towed by the police.

Valuables
Valuables such as jewelry, important papers, credit cards, keys, wallets, rings and cash in excess of $5 should be sent home. If you are unable to do so, the hospital has a safe that is specifically used to ensure the security of patient valuables. Just tell the nurse that you have valuables and an envelope will be brought to you in which you can place your items. This envelope will then be placed in the hospital’s safe and will be returned to you upon request at discharge. The hospital assumes no responsibility for personal property retained by the patient.

Personal Items
All patients are asked to bring a bathrobe, slippers and personal toilet articles (comb/brush, toothbrush, etc.). Hospital gowns are provided; however, you may prefer to wear your own pajamas or night gown (front opening). Electrical heaters are not allowed and all other electrical appliances must be approved for safety by the Engineering Department. Eyeglasses, dentures and hearing aids require special care. Notify your nurse if you will be using any of these items. To prevent accidental disposal, take care not to leave these items on your meal tray or bed.
